Some sad truths that we have to deal with:
- We cannot go back in time
- We have to live our entire life in this skin
- We cannot make someone like us if they don’t
- Our futures are never certain
- Some people will change
- Some people will always stay the same
Some fortunate truths that we have to deal with:
Because we cannot go back in time, we learn that we shouldn’t live in the past. We learn to appreciate the people, experience and things we have now.
Because we have to live our entire life in this skin, we learn to appreciate and accept the way we are. We learn to make the best of what we have.
Because we cannot make someone like us if they don’t, we learn to value affection, friendships and/or relationships. We learn that relationships should be balanced and mutual in order for it to work.
Because futures are never certain, we learn to be prepared of what life may throw at us in the short- or long-term. We learn to think ahead and expect the unexpected.
Because some people will change, we learn that so can we. We learn to reflect on our lives and think about how much we have or haven’t changed, and whether or not this is good for us and others.
Because some people will always be the same, we learn that principles/beliefs are really valuable to some people. We learn to reconsider/question our own beliefs, but at the same time be open-minded or flexible enough when dealing with others.
